Workers' Compensation

Workers' Compensation is a set of laws that define benefits for victims of on-the-job injuries. Although intended to be a simple, easy to understand system, it has evolved over time into a complicated and challenging field. Few lawyers "dabble" in Workers' Compensation.

Trials usually last about one half day. Claimants are not entitled to a jury trial. One of the seven judges of the Court will preside over a trial where their authority is limited to award past and future medical expenses/treatment, temporary disability benefits for any lost time from work from the date of the accident until they are released by their doctor, permanent disability benefits for the injuries sustained, and future vocational rehabilitation rights

Dowd Howard & Corrigan offers a free initial consultation on any Workers' Compensation matter. Many times, we are able to offer some simple advice without incurring an attorney fee.
